Due to the delays in opening the new online trust registration service for agents, HMRC have yet again extended the deadline for filing information about existing trusts.
The online Trust Registration Service (TRS) requires new trusts to be registered online and existing trusts to file information online. The deadline for existing trusts has been moved from 31 January 2018 to 5 March 2018. This deadline applies to all trusts which either already have a unique taxpayer reference, or do not need one. The deadline for registering new trusts created in the 2016/17 tax year remains 5 January 2018.
