The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced that Budget 2021 will be held on 3 March 2021.

The Budget will be used to set tax rates and allowances for England and we expect to hear a lot more about the government's post-Brexit tax plans. The government's COVID-19 recovery plans will also dominate the budget process and there will be updates on tax policy following recent tax consultations.

Draft legislation covering measures announced in the Spring covers many areas of direct and indirect tax has been circulated for inclusion in the 2021 Finance Bill which looks likely to be a bumper edition. See our Finance Act 2020: rolling tax update and planner for a summary
