Finance (No 2) Bill 2017 received Royal Assent on 27 April 2017, becoming Finance Act 2017 and parliament was dissolved on 3 May 2017.

More than half of the original bill was dropped as there was insufficient time for debate before June’s General Election, including clauses on Making Tax Digital and deemed domicile. It is expected that the dropped clauses will be reinstated in the next Finance Bill following the election.
