On 17 October 2017 the new online trust registration service (TRS) went live for agents.
The first step is to set up a new Agent Services Account (ASA). The ASA system is not yet fully live, therefore for now agents will need to email HMRC at
We assume that agents will then have full access and will be able to start using the online service for trust clients although we understand that this will not be immediate and may, say HMRC "take a little time". The deadline for registering existing trusts is 31 January 2018 whilst for new trusts settled during 2016/17 the deadline is 5 December 2017.
